When CrossFit training was developed in 2000 by Greg Glassman and Lauren Jenai, the bar for gym equipment and flooring manufacturers was raised forever. It became paramount that quality and durability be greatly increased to withstand this new type of training phenomenon while simultaneously creating a safer environment for CrossFitters. CrossFit WOD’s, aka “workout of the day”, performed in affiliated boxes, include rounds of high intensity exercises including barbells, kettlebells, rigs and racks, weighted sleds and more. So, at its foundation, CrossFit training has always relied heavily on rubber gym flooring to help protect floors and equipment from damage.
Until now, there has never been a rubber flooring solution designed specifically for CrossFit training. CrossFit Surfaces™ re-vulcanized rubber flooring provides superior tensile strength, tear strength and resists “crumbing” like regular recycled rubber. And, it’s even non-porous and anti-microbial, thanks to its closed-cell characteristics, a fortunate result of the vulcanization process. Our re-vulcanized rubber is used to create interlocking stall mats, portable deadlifting mats and other products that exceed the performance needs of any harsh training environment of any size.
